Marten and Karen's Happy Little World

We have been happily married since 1996. We are blessed to have 2 children: Nicolle (1997) & Jason (2000). (and don't forget the dogs - Jessie and MoJo). We are nicely settled in our beautiful house in South Rustico, PEI and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. God has blessed us richly.

"A Woman After God's Own Heart" by Elizabeth George

"A woman after God's own heart is first and foremost a woman who has in her own heart a deep and abiding passion for God's Word. And her children ... are to receive the firstfruits of this burning personal passion. ... (we) are on assignment from God to teach His Word to our children. We as moms can do many things for our children, but teaching God's Word must be our passion. Why? Because God's Word (the Hebrew word tora, which means the divine law, the Word of God, the Bible) has value for salvation and value for eternity... We must place His Holy Scripture first on the list of things our children must know -- and first in our own hearts!"
quote found on pages 116-117

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:

"So where is God when you can't find the car keys and you're running behind... when the report you worked on late into the evening now has colorful crayon drawings on every page... when the air conditioning in your car has gone out on a scorching summer day and the kids are clamoring for attention in the backseat?
He's right there, in the very middle of it all -- watching over you, loving you, gently guiding and teaching you... sometimes in the most unexpected ways."

This is from the devotion book entitled "Little blessings from a big God -- finding more of God through the lives of your children" by Michelle Medlock Adams. I found it at Maritime Christian Bookstore for $4.99. Great deal. Filled with "God lessons", it was a great encouragement to me in my role as a mother and as a woman of God.
